About Us

Downtown Cincinnati Inc. (DCI) is a non-profit business organization with a mission to build a dynamic metropolitan center valued as the heart of the region. The organization is funded by a Special Improvement District that includes all property within the boundaries of Eggleston Avenue on the east, Central Parkway on the north, Central Avenue on the west (including the Centennial buildings), and the river on the south (excluding the two stadiums). DCI provides leadership and advocacy for important issues that ensure long-term downtown vitality, and plays an important role in working with strong partners to improve the city. DCI delivers its mission by providing services in three areas:

  • Maintaining and enhancing a safe, clean and welcoming environment downtown, including the recognized Downtown Ambassador program--now even more visible in bright new uniforms and an even greater attention to detail and quick response.
  • Maintaining and enhancing the image, awareness and usage of downtown as a vibrant hub of activity through strategic marketing and communications, including the popular Go To Town Guide, proactive media relations and presentations, Downtown Dazzle holiday events and timely e-mail communications.
  • Advocate for and support business and residential growth downtown through stakeholder services programs, the production of the acclaimed Downtown Tour of Living, and serving as the primary source of downtown data collection and distribution to stakeholders by providing quarterly and annual State of Downtown reports.

On June 20, 2008, Downtown Cincinnati Inc. (DCI) announced a two-year, $1 million marketing campaign featuring radio, newspaper, magazine and online advertisements. The campaign slogan is “Life Happens Here. Downtown” and the message includes suggested itineraries to spend a day, evening  or afternoon downtown sampling multiple establishments.

The two-year campaign is funded by Downtown Cincinnati Inc. and Downtown Cincinnati Improvement District, along with 22 downtown corporations and organizations – P&G, Fifth Third Bank, Macy’s, Market Tools, The Cincinnati Enquirer, Cincinnati USA Convention & Visitors Bureau, Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber of Commerce, Duke Energy, Western & Southern, PNC, Tower Place, dunnhumby, Huntington Bank, Millennium Hotel, Hyatt Regency, Westin Hotel, Garfield Suites Hotel, Hixson, Do Downtown Restaurant Group, Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP, Cincinnati Bengals, and The Carol Ann and Ralph V.
